1. Ways of Applying

Apply early. Waiting until you have your Grade 12
results may be too late to get into your programmes
of choice.The CAO accepts applications from 1 March
for entry in the following year.
Online application and/or downloadable
application form
You can apply online or print a form from our website
by selecting ‘Apply’. After completing Section A of the form entitled
Applicant Information, you will be given the option of continuing with
the online application OR printing an Application Form.
If you choose to continue with the online application, follow these
six steps to complete your application:
Step 1:
Complete all fields of the application as they are mandatory.
Where a section does not apply to you, select the 'not
applicable' tick box, as this will allow you to continue
completing your application.
Step 2:
Enter or select the programme choices you wish to apply for.
Programme codes can be obtained from the CAO Handbook or
under the ‘Programmes’ link on the CAO website.
Step 3:
In Section P, which is the Checklist section, youwill be prompted
to upload scanned certified copies of all the documentation
you may already have in hand to complete your application.
Please ensure that the files you upload fit the description of
the upload option you select, e.g. do not upload your Grade
11 final results into the upload box requesting final Grade 12
results. You may also send us your documents at a later stage.
Step 4:
Paying the application fee (see page 158 for ways of making
payment), e.g. you can pay online, through EasyPay or ABSA
Bank.
Step 5:
The Declaration and Informed Consent Form must be
completed.
Step 6:
Ensure that you agree to the Terms and Conditions listed at
the end of completing your application. An online summary
of your application will be generated for you to check. Once
you have checked that all details are correct, click on ‘Submit
My Application’.

request that the declaration and payment details be sent to you.
